Topical Support Groups

Our Mission

Spaces ministry aims to offer an open, non-judgmental group space to process challenging life issues, in hopes that awareness and having the ability to articulate the inner wrestlings of the heart is the beginning of healing and freedom.

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our affliction, so that we may be able to comfort those who are in any affliction, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God. For as we share abundantly in Christ’s sufferings, so through Christ we share abundantly in comfort too. If we are afflicted, it is for your comfort and salvation; and if we are comforted, it is for your comfort, which you experience when you patiently endure the same sufferings that we suffer. Our hope for you is unshaken, for we know that as you share in our sufferings, you will also share in our comfort.

– 2 Corinthians 1:3-7

What is Spaces Ministry?

We can all benefit from having an open, safe, and non-judgmental space to process potential self-isolating life issues like grief, sexuality, infertility, eating disorders, mental illness, and more.

  • Intake meeting to screen goodness of fit for Spaces

  • 6-7 week, topic-specific support groups moderated by lay-lead facilitators, trained to maintain a non-educational, vulnerable space to allow processing and articulating the inner wrestlings of the heart

  • Collaborate with M&M ministry to enhance Spaces experience with an event that models vulnerability and topic-related sharing through the speakers’ testimony

  • Assist/triage before making referrals to professional care and other resources

New Moms

Women’s

A space for new moms to grow together in this unique season of life. This will be a judgement-free space where mothers can process the challenges they face while also celebrate the strides they are making. In these 6 weeks, we will share our experiences with the hopes of building a community that provides support and confidence in the beginning stages of motherhood.

Sexuality in Orientation

Co-ed
Time & Date: Saturdays, 9:30AM - 11:00AM (Starts June 15)
Location: In person, at Tapestry

We want to create a safe space to process with fellow brothers and sisters who share similar struggles with sexual orientation or gender identity. Confidentiality is key, and we will not be sharing members’ names. We hope this can be the start of conversations that may not have had a home elsewhere.

Grief

Co-ed
Time & Date: Sundays, 1:00PM - 2:30PM (Starts July 14)
Location: In person, at Tapestry

An authentic space to share and process for those who have experienced the death of their loved one. Everyone's grief experience is unique to their own and we hold this space to walk through grief together. We will meet for 7 weeks and hope that you find comfort and strength in this community.
